Yorkshire Rose Beaker - Colette Bishop
CRAFTMASTERS EXCLUSIVE
Colette is a multi-faceted designer whose interests cover surface pattern and colour: she is one of very few makers who plates her own work herself. Based in an area of Sheffield synonymous with silversmithing heritage, Colette uses traditional techniques such as chasing and repoussé, learnt from Master makers such as Rod Kelly, Peter Musgrove & Jacqueline Mina, with a fresh, contemporary approach.
This exclusive design represents Sheffield with the emblem of the Yorkshire Rose in low relief chasing - it is a powerful symbol too of femininity and strength - chasing in sterling silver takes determination! Colette’s clever use of gold plate gives the roses warmth as they rise above the dappled background. This beaker is beautifully weighted - an heirloom for future generations.
