Honesty silver tray - Abigail Brown
Made in her studio in Cornwall, Abigail’s tactile forms are instantly recognisable. Her pieces exude a satisfying quietness and calm.
Abigail specialises in hand raised vessels, bowls and objects using a hammer forming technique known as raising - meaning literally to 'raise' the the metal from flat sheet into a vessel. Abigail has an enquiring mind: the current inspirations for her work include the human form, plant life, and archaeology. Her Honesty tray is an elegant homage to the seed pods of Lunaria annua (Moonwort).
The tray is a sculptural piece in it’s own right, but is also wonderful foil to fresh fruit, or would look exceptionally glamorous with a couple of glasses of champagne resting upon it! The hammer worked surface of the surround really makes you feel connected to Abigail - quite literally you can feel each strike! Very, very special - an heirloom of the future.
