Acorn Cup - Abigail Brown
Made in her studio in Cornwall, Abigail’s tactile forms are instantly recognisable. Her pieces exude a satisfying quietness and calm.
Abigail specialises in hand raised vessels, bowls and objects using a hammer forming technique known as raising - meaning literally to 'raise' the the metal from flat sheet into a vessel. Abigail has an enquiring mind: the current inspirations for her work include the human form, plant life, and archaeology.
Abigail’s Plant medicine collection explores and celebrates valuable botanicals in great detail. This delightful little cup is a delight to hold in the hand whilst contemplating nature, the universe, or simply a particularly good single malt.
Abigail’s hammer-formed cup is deeply chased and has a gorgeously textured surface, it’s warm glow from within thanks to it’s gilded interior, adds to the experience.
