Despite only graduating from Glasgow School of Art in 2021, Scott Smith is already a multi award winning designer. His thoughtful approach to his work is greatly inspired by early Scottish craftspeople; repetitive mark making and meditative, traditional carving techniques.
Scott uses carving, raising and casting, sometimes combining wood with precious metals to create functional, handheld tableware.
Scott is currently artist in residence at Glasgow School of Art, and was Ethical Maker ambassador for the Scottish Goldsmiths’ Trust.
